Casey Key is an eight mile long barrier island that is home to some of the most luxurious and expensive homes on the Gulf Coast of Florida. History
The name reverted back to Casey key, when the Florida real estate market collapsed. A real estate developer briefly changed the name to Treasure Island, in the 1920's. He was assigned to the area to help map the area. It was changed to Casey Key after Captain John Charles Casey. The island was originally named Chaise's Key when the area was mapped out in the 1850's.
